Osmia rufohirta Latreille, 1811

 

 

North Mediterranean species. Distributed in a large part of Slovenia.

Polylectic species. Nests in empty snail shells. Cell partitions are made of masticated leaves and the nest is closed with sand. On the Kras it uses snail shells of the species Pomatias elegans.

Univoltine. Flies from May to July.
