Female on Lathyrus. Pollen is transported on hind legs, while the two larger Xylocopa species transport it in the crop. Brje pri Komnu, Kras, July 2004.	Xylocopa iris (Christ, 1791) Mediterranean species. In the sub-Mediterranean and sub-Pannonian regions of Slovenia. Polylectic species, visiting mainly Fabaceae and Lamiaceae. Nests in hollow plant stems. Univoltine. Flies from April to September.

	Razširjenost vrste v Sloveniji. Na Krasu, v Istri in Podčetrtku.
