Mag. Miha Jeršek is working on his Doctor of Science Thesis referring to inclusions in minerals, Dr. Breda Činč Juhant continues researching igneous rocks. The department is taking part in traditional mineral exhibitions in Slovenia: in Škofja loka (in March) and in Tržič (in May) with thematic exhibitions.

Hidden treasures of Macedonia The exhibition "Hidden treasures of Macedonia" with numerous activities (stereoscopic projections, museum workshops, guidance, lectures and professional meeting) was held till the end of January 2000.

Palnstorf mineral and rock collection We took part in the 5th exhibition of rocks, minerals and fossils in Škofja Loka (18.3.) with the exhibition Palnstorfova zbirka mineralov in kamnin (Trans.: "Palnstorf mineral and rock collection").

Mala šola kristalografije We took part in Minfos 28 (Days of minerals, fossils and environment) in primary school in Bistrica near Tržič (13. and 14.5.2000) with the exhibition and workshop Mala šola kristalografije (Trans.: "Infant-school of crystallography").

Zois mineral Collection We took part in the exhibition Minerali alpskih dežel, Zoisova zbirka mineralov (Trans.: "Minerals of the Alpine Countries; Zois mineral Collection") in University library in Maribor (10.5. -10.6.), in Bolfenk, Pohorje (11.6. -1.9.) and in Bad Bleiberg, Austria (30.9. -31.10.).

Mammoth in Herman's den We took part in the exhibition (as co-authors) Mamut v Hermanovem brlogu (Trans.: "Mammoth in Herman's den") in Museum of Modern History in Celje (opened till the end of December 2000).
