ABOUT ILLIESIAIlliesia, the International Journal of Stonefly Research, publishes papers dealing with any area of plecopteran research. The Journal is published on the World Wide Web and printed by Mississippi College and the Slovenian Museum of Natural History, and it is freely available to all individuals and institutions. There are no page charges or reprint costs for contributors, thus the Journal provides an alternative to the high cost of publishing in many scientific journals. The on-line format permits inclusion of color figures, at no cost to the author, and it is possible to include large data sets, analyses and computerized sequences. Authors are responsible for the content of their papers but Illiesia provides rigorous peer review under the direction of the Advisory Board. Copyright rests with authors or their employers but the Journal retains limited rights in order to insure proper archival and on-line maintenance of the papers. Papers may be published as separate numbers within an annual volume, or grouped with others depending on availability; publication for each number occurs as soon as the review and revision process is complete. Annual volumes will be available on cd-rom and at least 5 paper copies will be distributed to major libraries. Depositories will include libraries at the Slovenian Museum of Natural History, Ljubljana, Slovenia; the United States National Museum of Natural History, Washington D. C., USA; the Museum of Natural History, London, UK; The American Museum of Natural History, New York, USA; National Museum of Natural History, Paris, France; Senckenberg Library, Frankfurt, Germany; Zoological Museum Amsterdam, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Natural History Museum, Vienna, Austria; Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, Hungary and Brigham Young University, Provo, USA.
