Rhodanthidium septemdentatum (Latreille, 1809)

 

 

North Mediterranean species. In Slovenia in the sub-Mediterranean region and in the Soča valley.

Probably polylectic species, visiting mainly Fabaceae and Lamiaceae. Nests in empty snail shells of the genus Cepaea. The cell partitions are made of resin.

Univoltine. Flies from May to July.

Rhodanthidium superbum – a large relative, not present in Slovenia

Razširjenost vrste v Sloveniji.

Vrsta je pogosta v submediteranskem območju in po dolini Soče sega v alpski svet.
