Panurgus banksianus (Kirby, 1802)

 

 

European species. In the Alpine, pre-Alpine, Dinaric and sub-Mediterranean (Nanos) regions of Slovenia.

Oligolectic, specialized on Asteraceae Cichorioideae. Nests in burrows in the ground, excavated by itself.

Univoltine. Flies from June to August.

 

Two males try to copulate with a female whose face is seen.

 

Female with pollen load burrowing into the ground.

Razširjenost vrste v Sloveniji.
