Osmia niveata (Fabricius, 1804)

 

 

West Palaearctic species, widely distributed in Slovenia.

Oligolectic, specialized on Asteraceae (e.g. Cirsium). Nests in various pre-existing cavities, mainly in burrows in wood. The cell partitions are made of masticated leaves.

Univoltine. Flies in June and July.

 

Razširjenost vrste v Sloveniji.

Zelo razširjena vrsta, vendar ni pogosta.
