Megachile (Callomegachile) sp., close to M. mystaceana (Michener, 1962)

Malaysia, Hulu Perak, Belum-Temenggor forest, March 1994 (female)

Member of the predominantly tropical subgenus Callomegachile, to which the longest bee in the world, up to 39 mm long Megachile pluto from Indonesia, also belongs. Callomegachile females use resin for nest construction.

Pripadnica pretežno tropskega podrodu Callomegachile, v katerega uvrščamo tudi najdaljšo čebelo na svetu, do 39 mm dolgo vrsto Megachile pluto iz Indonezije. Samice podrodu Callomegachile za gradnjo gnezd uporabljajo smolo.
