Lasioglossum marginatum (Brullé, 1832)

 

 

Mediterranean species. Distributed in the sub-Mediterranean, sub-Pannonian, pre-Dinaric and pre-Alpine regions of Slovenia.

Polylectic species. Nests in burrows in the ground, excavated by itself. Social species.

Females fly from March to May, males in September and October. The queen lives for 5-6 years.

Male on the nesting ground. Only males appear in the autumn. Young females do not leave their nests and the males must find them there. Kregolišče, Kras, October 2008.

Razširjenost vrste v Sloveniji.

Na Primorskem pogosta, drugod redka.
