Andrena spinigera (Kirby, 1802)

 

 

Palaearctic species, widely distributed in Slovenia.

Polylectic species. Nests in burrows in the ground, excavated by itself.

Univoltine (Schmid-Egger et Scheuchl 1997, pers. obs.). In Slovenia it flies from March to May. If summer specimens belonged to the same species, it would be called A. trimmerana Kirby. But they may be a distinct species.
