Mediterranean species. In the sub-Mediterranean and sub-Pannonian regions of Slovenia.

Polylectic species (pers. obs.), visiting Allium, Apiaceae and Fabaceae. Nests in burrows in the ground, excavated by itself.

Bivoltine, but Schuberth (1995) presumes that the spring generation is a distinct species, A. flavilabris. The specimens from Podčetrtek (sub-Pannonian r.), found in April, would belong to this species, flying from April to June. Males found in October near Sočerga in Istria also correspond well to the description of this species. But specimens flying in Istria and Karst (sub-Mediterranean r.) in July and August are true A. decipiens.
